Induction Week Roundup: Kicking off the New Academic Year with a BANG!
We’re beyond excited to welcome over 100 new students to our music academy this year, and the energy during our Induction Week set the tone for what promises to be an incredible year of creativity, collaboration, and growth. Here’s a look back at the highlights of our action-packed induction week.
Day 1: Induction with Relentless Records + Lewis Fitzgerald
We kicked off Induction Week with an unforgettable session hosted by Relentless Records’ Managing Director Shabs Jobanputra and A&R team, providing our students with invaluable insight into the workings of the music industry. This session wasn’t just about learning from the best—it was about starting our year by breaking down the walls between emerging talent and seasoned professionals. The cherry on top was a panel discussion featuring Relentless’ artist, Lewis Fitzgerald, who shared his journey from being an aspiring artist to becoming one of the most exciting talents on the label. His candid advice left a lasting impression on the new cohort, inspiring them to stay hungry, passionate, and relentless in their own pursuits.
To top it all of, Wingstop UK kept us all fuelled with a delicious feast!
Day 2: Soundtrack of the Future – Class of ‘25 Welcome Party
Soundtrack of the Future was a night to remember; celebrating the unique voices and styles of our students. It started with an Open Cypher, where students and guests took to the stage and unleashed their improvisation skills with their smart bars and soulful melodies.
The evening continued with a gorgeous headline set from Isabel Abbott, whose vocals and stage presence mesmerised everyone in the room. Rounding out the night were DJ sets from our alumni DJ Ben Furner, who kept the dance floor moving until the final beat dropped.
Students got the chance to network, collaborate, and build connections with their peers, setting the stage for what will surely be a year full of incredible music.
Day 3: NHAM JAM – Our First Multi-Genre Jam Session of the Year
We wrapped up Induction Week with our NHAM JAM, an open jam session that celebrated diversity and creativity in every form. This multi-genre jam session was open to all musicians, singers, rappers, poets, and dancers, and the turnout was electric! A four-piece live band set the stage, and students were invited to jump in, freestyle, and express themselves in any way they chose.
The jam session was a perfect representation of what our academy is all about—bringing together different sounds, styles, and talents to create something entirely new and special.
Induction Week has set the bar high for what’s to come. We’ve already seen the incredible talent and passion that this new group of students brings to the table, and we can’t wait to see how they grow and thrive during their time here.
